This explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect what you type into our forms, we use it to reply to you and do the work, and we don't sell it or share it beyond the tools we need to run the business.

01Who we are

Mantlework ("we", "us"). We're the data controller for the information described here. Contact us about anything privacy-related at ellis@mantlework.com.

02What we collect

• Enquiry details — what you put in our forms: your name, business name, email address, trade or website, what you need, and anything you write in the message box.
• Correspondence — emails between us, and notes from any call you book.
• Client records — if you become a client: the materials you send us for the work, invoices and payment records.

We don't collect anything from this website in the background. No analytics trackers, no advertising pixels.

03Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a straight answer and a price.
• To deliver the services you've engaged us for, and to invoice for them.
• To keep records the law requires us to keep, such as accounting records.

The legal bases for this are taking steps you've asked for before a contract, performing the contract itself, our legitimate interest in running the business, and legal obligation for the record-keeping.

04Who it's shared with

The service providers we use to operate: website hosting, email, form handling, scheduling if you book a call, and accounting software. They process data on our instructions and can't use it for their own purposes. We don't sell your information and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.

05How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't go anywhere are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for the length of the engagement and then as long as UK tax and accounting rules require, which is currently six years.

06Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. If you use the booking calendar, that embedded tool may set its own cookies under its own policy.

07Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we're using it, and ask us to restrict or transfer it. Email ellis@mantlework.com and we'll deal with it promptly. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

If this policy changes, the new version goes up on this page with a new date at the top.
